Barry Blevins, Sikeston Community Development Director, discussed the city possibly being gifted the vacant 1.6-acre lot next to Dollar General, located on W. Malone. Blevins, along with members of the LCRA, are scheduled to speak with the owners about the lot later this month.

Blevins also discussed the lot on 838 Mary. The owner, Chester Cardwell, is offering to gift the city the lot and recently tore down the structure that was on the property. LCRA approved the gift with LCRA paying title, attorney and closing fees.

The LCRA also approved the mowing plan, which calls for the city to bill and pay for the mowing of LCRA properties and then being reimbursed by the LCRA. The cost for the mowing is $3,500 per month.

The next LCRA meeting is scheduled for May 20.
