1. The Curbside Pickup Programs are operated in May and October. Place your bulky items at the curb on your designated collection days. Do not place items you do not want disposed of close to rubbish or items to be hauled off as they may be taken by mistake. Sonny’s Solid Waste, Inc.(SSW) will not be responsible or replace any items taken if they are next to the curb on pick-up days. A limit of four (4) bulky items per day for pickup (furniture, extra bags, etc.). The nomal trash trucks will not pick up your bulky items - another truck will be sent to get these items. Make sure your toter is 3 feet away from your bulky items. All mattress & box springs must be wrapped in plastic or they will not be picked up. See the list below for items that will not be accepted and items that have a pickup-up fee associated with it.
2. Another opportunity is the Annual Sikeston Community Clean-Up Campaign. This program gives individuals the chance to dispose of bulky items at the Compost Site, located on Compress Road. The Community Clean-Up Campaign is conducted in late April.
Schedules for these programs will be posted below and in the local newspaper.
CURBSIDE PICKUP PROGRAM (Spring & Fall)

State regulations prohibit the deposit of certain items in Missouri landfills. A listing follows. Please contact Sonny's Solid Waste at 471-2869 to arrange for the pickup and disposal of these items.
Any resident requesting pickup of large chargeable items must call Sonny's before their scheduled pickup day for arrangements to be made. Payment must be made at the office prior to pickup. No exceptions.

The following items will be picked up and charged $10.00 each. Any appliance compressor must be drained and removed prior to pickup. Pricing for commercial appliances are not included on this list.
NOTE: All chargeable items listed below are $20 each during normal trash pickup. $10 only applies during the Curbside Pickup Program.

Residents having any of the chargeable items listed above for pick up during the Spring/Fall Clean Up period must pay for these items prior to the scheduled pick up days. Payment and scheduling of pick up for the chargeable items must be made at the SSW main office, 451 Smith Street, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Drivers and workers on the SSW collection trucks will not take special pick up requests or take payments for these on collection days. These arrangements must be made in advance with the office. There will be no exceptions to this.
Lead acid batteries - $1.00 each
Used Oil - $1.00 per gallon
All used oil will need to be completely sealed in a plastic or metal container to avoid spillage. No less than 5 gallons per container or per pickup of used oil.
NO HAZARDOUS WASTE. Residents' addresses will be kept on file to avoid hazardous waste being put with the used oil.

ANNUAL COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP PROGRAM

Where: Compost Site on Compress Road
The Annual Community Clean-Up Program is held for 9 days starting in late April and ending in early May. Items are dropped off at the Compost Site which is located on Compress Road.
Open to Sikeston residents, citizens can bring any large bulky items, rubbish, yard waste, grass clippings, washers, dryers, microwaves, refrigerators, hot water heaters, commodes, tires no larger than 18" without rims, and household furniture to the site for disposal. Also, electric motors, rubber hoses and compressors must be detached from appliances. The site will be manned and proof of residency will be required.
The following items will not be accepted: any hazardous materials or chemicals, asbestos materials, shingles, paint, LP tanks, fuel containers, construction waste, demolition waste and batteries. No commercial dumping will be allowed.
