Greg Turnbow, Mayor

MayorGreg Turnbow moved to Sikeston from East Prairie, Missouri in 1982.  He attended Southeast State University where he majored in Business Administration.  After college, Greg remained in Sikeston and began a career in sales at Alan Wire Company.  He is currently one of three Regional Sales Managers. 

Since moving to Sikeston, Greg has served as President and Rodeo Chairman of the Sikeston Jaycees, has been awarded The Distinguished Service Award and was also selected as one of the Outstanding Young Missourians.  He has also coached youth sports for the YMCA and the Sikeston Youth Soccer League.

Greg and his wife Monica are the proud parents to son Blaze and daughter Alexa.  He enjoys hunting, fishing, grilling and spending time with his family and friends.

John

John Leible was born and raised in Southeast Missouri.  Upon graduating from Scott City High School, he joined the Missouri Army National Guard while attending the University of Missouri.  John was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2007.  He returned home in 2008 and continued working toward his degree in Finance and Banking, graduating from Mizzou in 2011.  In 2013, John moved to Sikeston with his wife Mandy.  Since moving to town, he has been active in the Sikeston Jaycees and other civic groups while serving on various boards and commissions for the City.

John currently works at First Midwest Bank in Sikeston where he is a Loan Officer.  When he is not working, John enjoys going to the park with Mandy and their son Rhett and daughter Remi.

Ryan

Ryan Lindsey is a 2002 Sikeston High School graduate and lifelong resident of Sikeston. After high school, he attended Murray State University and graduated with his bachelor’s degree in advertising. After college, he began working for NewWave Communications, where he held several positions until leaving in 2014 to pursue a career in teaching. Since that time, he has worked for the Sikeston R-6 school district as the SCTC Marketing Instructor, summer school director, and now A+ coordinator / attendance officer. Over this time, he obtained his master’s degree in teaching and specialist degree in educational leadership. 

The past president of the Sikeston Jaycees and past General Chairman of the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo, Ryan currently sits on various boards for the Sikeston R-6 School District and Historic Downtown Sikeston. He also serves as the Outstanding Young Missourian Director for the Missouri Jaycees. Ryan is the advisor for the Sikeston Bleacher Bums and co-advisor for the Sikeston High School eSports team.  Ryan and his wife, Heather, who works as a principal clinical application analyst for Saint Francis Healthcare Systems, have one daughter, Sophia. As a family, they enjoy playing with their two dogs, attending gymnastics competitions for their daughter, and playing video games together. They also try to take short trips to spend time together as a family when possible.

TomTom was born and raised in Sikeston.  He attended Lee Hunter Elementary School and graduated from Sikeston High School.  After high school, he attended Southeast Missouri State University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work.  Tom spent two years in St. Louis working for the Missouri Division of Youth Services as a youth specialist at the Missouri Hills Campus in North St. Louis County.  He also worked for Lifeskills, Inc. working with developmentally disabled clients.

Tom went to law school and upon graduation returned to Sikeston and went to work at Robison & Robison.  In 2009 he became a partner in the firm of Thornton & Robison.  Tom is married to Sandy, who is Director of Social Services at Missouri Delta Medical Center.  They have two sons, Henry and Charlie.  Tom and his family are members of Hunter First Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sikeston.








 
Vest Baker, Council Member - Ward 2

Vest Baker is from New Madrid, MO where he graduated Valedictorian of his high school class in 1999. After earning a degree in General Business Administration from Mississippi State University in the spring of 2003, Vest moved home and began growing the relatively new family farming business. Since then, Vest has developed this business while remaining constantly involved in his community by volunteering and serving on New Madrid’s City Council and Park Board.

In 2014, Vest and his family moved to Sikeston. Vest’s wife has proudly worked for Sikeston Public Schools since 2010, and both of their children attend schools in the district as well. Since living in Sikeston, Vest has become involved with the local youth by coaching city football and baseball teams, is member of First United Methodist Church and Church Board, and volunteers for SPS sports events while serving as a Sikeston Booster Club Board Member. He won the Jaycee Outstanding Young Farmer Award in 2015.

When Vest isn’t working, he loves to spend time with his family. They travel for their children’s ball tournaments and horse shows and have a great network of support in the Sikeston community.

 
David Teachout, Council Member - Ward 3

TeachoutDavid Teachout is a lifelong resident of Sikeston and is currently the Body Shop Manager for TAG Truck Center.

From 2003-2009, Teachout was the representative for Sikeston City Council Ward 3 and he also served on several civic and community boards including the Kenny Rogers Children’s Center Board, Department of Public Safety Advisory Board, and Tourism Board. 

Teachout presently serves as President of the Missouri JCI Senate.  He is past President of the Sikeston Jaycees, past member of Sikeston Jaycees Bootheel Rodeo Board of Directors, recipient of the Sikeston Jaycee’s Distinguished Service Award and Missouri Jaycees’ Ten Outstanding Young Missourian Award. 

Teachout and his wife, Kathy, are members of the First United Methodist Church.  They have one daughter, Lauren, son-in-law, Ryan and granddaughter, Evelyn who live in Tennessee.

Onethia Williams was born and raised in East St. Louis, Illinois later moving to Sikeston in 2004 where she raised all her children. Onethia works as a Community Behavioral Health Liaison at Bootheel Counseling Services in Sikeston, MO.  When she is not working, she enjoys spending quality time and traveling with her family.  Onethia has been happily married to her husband Jimmy since 1998 and they have four beautiful children, Davion, Jimela, Jimmy Jr., and Dontrez, and two grand-children Davion Jr. and Ariel.  

Onethia graduated from East St. Louis Sr. High School in 1988.  She later attended State Community College in East St. Louis where she graduated with her Associates of Arts and Associates of Science degree.  After graduating, she began working as a Coordinator over an Early Intervention Program.  In 2004 Onethia and her family moved to her husband's hometown of Sikeston.  Onethia decided to go back to college and graduated in 2016 from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology/Christian Counseling degree.

Onethia attends Cornerstone Baptist Church where she serves as Secretary of the Willing Working Women Ministry. Onethia also serves on City Council Liaison for Sikeston Housing Authority Board of Directors, Chairperson Tourism Advisory Board, Bootheel Area Local CIT Council, Bootheel Area Peer Support Network. But her most prized possession is being a Child of God.

TabathaTabatha J. Graham serves as our City Attorney. She has been practicing law since 2011 after attending law school at Bowen Law School- University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 2011 and at that time, opened a private practice in Charleston, Missouri.

She joined Burns, Taylor, Heckemeyer, Green and Edwards in 2018 as an associate attorney and continues to enjoy practicing law with this Sikeston Firm. Tabatha has two beautiful children, Kane and Ayleigh Thurman and when she is not working, enjoys spending her time with her family.
