Sikeston Farmer's Market begins May 6

Sikeston's Farmer's Market begins May 6

The Historic Downtown Sikeston Farmer’s Market will be held every Saturday at Legion Park from May 6 until Nov. 18.

Getting a spot at the Farmer’s Market is simple. All potential vendors need to do is show up on the morning of the Farmer’s Market and pay their vendor fee. Then they can set up and start selling. The vendor’s fee is $2 per day or $25 for the entire year.

“There is everything from honey, produce, and baked goods as well as handmade items like soaps, flower arrangements, and sewn items,” said Jason Davis, executive director of Historic Downtown Sikeston. “We often have some locally sourced gemstones and jewelry, as well as canned items and woodworking.”

Davis added that items must be handmade or grown in Missouri and food items must meet Scott County Health Department guidelines.

The Farmer’s Market will be open from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. or until everything is sold out.

For questions about the Farmer’s Market, call Davis at 573-380-3801. The day of the Farmer’s Market, most questions can be directed to Rick Justice, who is helping organize the Market from the vendor’s side.

Davis also said those who plan to be a vendor should reach out through the Historic Downtown Sikeston Facebook page messenger and give their email address. Vendors will be then highlighted on Historic Downtown Sikeston’s Facebook page prior to that Saturday’s Farmer’s Market. (April 20, 2023)
