Residents can now report issues through the website

The City of Sikeston recently updated its website with a new look.

As part of the updated website, there are plenty of improvements. One of those is the ability to report an issue through the website.

Anyone wanting to report an issue can visit www.sikeston.org.

On the front page, just under the header image, is a “Report an Issue” link. The user will be taken to a new page where you can create a username so you can be remembered each time you visit the website, or just continue as a guest.

If you are on a cell phone, there is a special link you can click which will take you to the Public Service Request System. At the top right of the page is three lines. If you click the lines you will be given the option to report an issue by either signing in or as a guest.

Once you sign in, or enter as a guest, you will enter the address or location of the issue, either by typing it into the corresponding box or by dragging a marker on a map, highlighting where the issue is occurring.

You will also have options of several complaints you can choose from a drop-down list, such as a pothole, damaged/missing sign, trash complaint or animal complaint.

If the complaint is not one of the ones listed in the drop-down list, there is a space for “other” where a complaint can be logged.

There is an option to upload an image if you have one and an option to keep the complaint anonymous.

When the complaint is entered, it will forward the complaint to the proper department.

Those with issues can still contact City Hall, but the website is just another way for residents to have their complaints heard.
