Dueling Pianos event to benefit Sikeston PAWS

Dueling Pianos event will benefit Sikeston PAWS

Tables are still available at the Bark at the Moon Dueling Pianos event planned for April 29 at the Clinton Building.

The event is a fundraiser, with all proceeds helping local animals at Sikeston PAWS.

The event will feature two pianos face-to-face, with entertainers taking requests. The piano players will play everything from 1940’s to Top 40, boy bands to girl bands, country to rock and roll, sock hop to hip hop, Rat Pack to Tupac and everything in between.

The show is driven by requests. Those in attendance can write down their favorite song or artist on a request slip and the piano players will rock them out on two baby grand pianos.

Bring cash as attendees can tip to get their song played first. All tip money will go directly to PAWS.

The event will seat about 200 as there were three different seating options. The $200 tables have been sold but $400 and $600 tables remain.

The $400 tables, known as the Bulldog tables, include eight tickets with a meat and cheese tray and champagne. The tables will be in the center of the room.

The $600 tables, called Great Dane tables, include tickets for eight as well as light apps, PAWS swag, champagne, and digital advertising. These are the best seats in the house.

The event is BYOB and bring your own food. Dress is casual.

Doors open at 6 p.m. with the music going from 7:30-10 p.m.

While the money is not specifically earmarked for anything with PAWS, Jamie Williams, director of PAWS, said health care of the animals can be costly. PAWS is also hoping to begin a micro-chipping program in the future along with purchasing a lift tub for the larger dogs if the funds are available.

“I think people are going to have a great time and it’s for a great cause,” Williams said.
