DPS Warns of Advance Fee Scams
Could you be the next victim of Advance Fee Fraud? By using some common sense you can keep thieves from tricking you into handing over your cash.
Advance Fee Fraud is simply another name for “Nigerian Scams” or “419 Scams”. It’s called Advance Fee Fraud because the general idea is to get you to send cash (or other items of value) upfront by promising a large amount of money in return for your cooperation.

Citizen's Resource Bank Applications Accepted
The Sikeston City Council is accepting Citizen Resource Bank Applications from residents seeking to participate in the City’s governing process. More than 100 volunteers currently serve on the City’s 17 boards and commissions. Residents seeking appointment are asked to complete and submit a Citizen’s Resource Bank Application. (Applicants should have no unpaid taxes or fines.)
Resource Bank Applications can be accessed and filed on-line from the City’s website on the Boards & Commissions page. Forms are also available at Sikeston City Hall and Sikeston Public Library. Applications received by August 23 will be submitted for Council consideration, with appointments slated for Council’s regular September Meeting.
The Moving Wall is Coming to Sikeston Sept. 9 - 13
We are pleased to announce that The Moving Wall, a half size replica of the Washington, DC Vietnam Veterans Memorial, will be coming to Sikeston on September 9 thru the 13th, 2010. It will be displayed at Rotary Park and open for public visitation 24 hours a day.
