Ward Map

Ward Map

In April, 2002, Sikeston voters approved a home rule charter. This charter requires the city to be divided into four wards with each ward having representation on the City Council. Furthermore, new ward boundaries shall be set within six months of the release of demographic information of each decennial U.S. Census. The goals the City Council envisioned in designing wards were to have as equal representation as possible in the wards, to ensure common interests among the residents of each ward, and to have clear boundaries. Most importantly, the Council’s intent is to ease any confusion for the residents of Sikeston. The wards reflected here are based on population numbers obtained from the 2020 U.S. Census, and were established with the passage of Ordinance 6254 on December 6, 2021.
