Jerry Pullen, Mayor

Jerry Pullen, Mayor, City of SikestonA veteran Councilman and former Mayor, Pullen has served on the Sikeston Planning & Zoning Commission and as the Council’s representative to the Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities.  Pullen is a past president of the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce, past president/director of the Kenny Rogers Center, serves on the Board of Directors of Alliance Bank, is past president and a member of the Lion’s Club, and serves on the Board of Directors of Ducks Unlimited.  He has been honored as the SACC 1999 Citizen of the Year, 2001 Elks Citizen of the Year, and the SACC 2002 Business of the Year. He is the owner of Pullen Brothers Trucking Company.

Pullen and his wife, Loretta, have two daughters, Mia K. and Angela B.

Steven Burch, Council Member At LargeSteven H. Burch, a native of Sikeston, graduated from Sikeston High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture Business from Southeast Missouri State University.

Steven has been involved with the family business, Burch Food Service, since 1977.  He has served as President of Burch Food Service from 1999 to present. 

He is a past President of the Sikeston Jaycees, past Rodeo Board Chairman and recipient of the Jaycees Distinguished Service Award.  Burch Food Service was recognized by SACC as Business of the Year in 2008.

Burch and his family are members of the First United Methodist Church.  Steven and his wife Tammy have one son, David, who currently attends Sikeston High School.

Bob Depro, Council Member At-Large

Sikeston City Council Member Bob DeproBob Depro was born in Cape Girardeau, but raised in Sikeston where he attended school, graduating from Sikeston High School in 1962.  Depro received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 1966 and earned his Master of Education Degree from the University of Mississippi in 1970. 

Bob taught at Sikeston Public Schools from 1966 - 2000 and then continued his educational career at Southeast Missouri State University from 2000 to present.

Council Member Depro is an active member of the First United Methodist Church where he is a Trustee, teaches Sunday School and is a member of the Chancel Choir.  He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation.  Depro is an avid reader and serves as a member of the Sikeston Public Library Board of Trustees.

Jon Gilmore, Council Member - Ward 1

Jon Gilmore, Council Member, Ward 1Gilmore, a native of Sikeston, graduated from Sikeston High School and received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Gilmore has been active in the community since returning home to Sikeston in 1999, having served on the boards of the Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Sikeston Country Club, the YMCA of Southeast Missouri, as well as Missouri Delta Medical Center's Foundation and Board of Directors.  He is also a Cub Scout leader for Pack 41 in Sikeston.

Jon was the 2011 President of the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce as well as past President of the Sikeston Jaycee Rodeo Board of Directors, having received the Outstanding Young Missourian Award and Jaycee Distinguished Service Award in 2010.

Gilmore is co-owner/co-manager of Semo Title Company and a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church.  Jon and his wife, Angela, have three young children.

John Graham, Council Member

Born and reared in Sikeston, Councilman Graham is a graduate of Sikeston High School. For more than twenty years he was the owner/manager of Graham Business Machines.  He has worked in electronic circuit design, engineering, and computer programming holding positions with regional and national corporations. Graham is a certified firefighter, and holds certifications in ministry and evangelism.  He is a past member of the Sikeston Jaycees, past Jaycee State District Director, past president of Cape First Assembly Men’s Ministry, and past president of Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship International. Graham has participated in ministry and evangelism missions across the world. He currently attends Tanner Street Church of God.

Graham has one son, John, and a granddaughter, Hanna.  In his free time, he enjoys hunting and fishing, and competes in the Kansas City Barbeque Society, as “Willy Bill’s BBQ”. Graham is also a KCBS Certified BBQ judge.

Kathy Teachout, Council Member - Ward 3

Kathy Teachout, Council Member - Ward 3Teachout is a lifetime resident of Sikeston, graduating from Sikeston High School.  She and her husband, David, have one child, Lauren. 

Teachout earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Southeast Missouri State University, and is employed as the Human Resources Director for Bootheel Counseling Services of Sikeston. She currently serves on the First United Methodist Church Council.  She is a past member of the Board of Directors of the MU Parent's Association and the Southeast Missouri State University – Sikeston Campus Advisory Council.  Active in Sikeston’s Vision for Tomorrow Strategic Planning process, Teachout served on the project’s steering committee, participated in the Stakeholder’s Housing key performance area evaluation, and is a member of the City’s Strategic Plan Implementation Commission.

Maude Harris, Council Member - Ward 4

Council Member Maude Harris, Ward 4

Councilwoman Maude Harris has been a resident of Sikeston since 1985. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Nutrition from Southeast Missouri State University in August 1985. Ten years later, she received a Master of Arts degree in Home Economics with a Food and Nutrition emphasis from Southeast Missouri State University in August 1995. In December of 2008, she received her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.

Councilwoman Harris was elected to the Council in April of 2010 for a three year term.   She was elected to a second term in April, 2013 and was appointed as Mayor Pro tempore. 

Dr. Harris is currently employed as a Nutrition and Health Education Specialist with University of Missouri Extension in Scott County. She currently serves with numerous community service organizations aimed at improving the quality of life for local citizens. Councilwoman Harris is married to Michael K Harris, Sr. and has four children, and one grandson.
