Life in Our Community

Sikeston is a community which enjoys life. When we’re not working, there are plenty of things to do for recreation. You will discover sports league activity of all kinds happening out at the Sikeston Sports Complex, which provides ample outdoor recreation opportunities for all of our young (and not so young) folks. The Complex also hosts the Sikeston Corporate Games every other year, during which the business community squares off in a good natured competition for the coveted Mayor’s Trophy. A  newly built community center is available for business meetings, Christmas parties, anniversary/wedding receptions, civic club fundraisers, etc. The Southeast Missouri YMCA facilities are bustling with youth programming and fitness activities and the Albritton-Meyer Performing Arts Center hosts many performances throughout the year. You’ll enjoy browsing the exhibits in our historical rail depot-turned-museum. Shopping fanatics will be kept busy in the Sikeston Factory Outlet Mall and the charming shops in the "old downtown" area. And you probably have already heard of our nationally-known "Home of Throwed Rolls" - Lambert’s Restaurant - and the fact that Sikeston is also "home" to one of the top five professional outdoor rodeos! Held each year over four days in August, the rodeo brings to town nationally-ranked cowboys and country/western stars, all for your entertainment. With two public golf courses and moderate weather year-round - the chances are that you’ll be able to swing your clubs for a good portion of the year. Sikeston’s community of faith is alive and welcoming. Several of our congregations added Family Life Facilities to their buildings in recent years. And don’t forget the Missouri Delta Medical Center - you’ll be able to receive top-notch health care, right at home.
