BUILDING PERMITS
Building
permits are required for residential construction as well as commercial
construction.
Residential
Building Permits are required for shed, garage / carports, room
additions, alterations, and the new construction.
The
procedure for obtaining a Residential Building Permit:
(1)
Submit a site plan detailing the lot size, location of existing
structures on said lot (if applicable), distance of proposed construction
to all existing buildings on the lot, the distance of the proposed
construction to the property lines.
(2)
Along with submittal of the site plan, provide estimate cost and
square footage of the proposed
project.
(3)
Purchase building permit from Building Inspections Department.
Commercial
Building Permits are required for alterations, additions, renovations
and construction of R-5 Multiple Family Dwellings, R-7 Condominium
Dwellings and all commercial projects.
The
procedure for obtaining a Commercial Building Permit:
(1)
Submit three (3) complete sets of sealed architectural plans,
project manuals, storm water management information.
(2)
Include with the plans a cost breakdown for the entire project.
